Product Description

SNREF Ladle nozzle filling compound sand is made of high quality imported chrome ore, refined quartz sand and high refractoriness material.
With good fluidity, fast flow, proper sintered layer thickness, anti-erosion and infiltration of molten steel.
Artesian open casting ladle rate reaches 98%, etc. reducing the labor intensity, reducing oxygen drainage, improving the quality of steel products, to ensure the smooth casting process.

The NFC (Nozzle Filling Compound), includes silicon stuffing sand, forsterite stuffing sand, high alumina stuffing sand, and chrome stuffing sand, among which chrome stuffing sand has the most favorable effect in application.

Continuous Casting Process

• Protecting Molten Steel: In the continuous casting process, the drainage sand is placed at the nozzle between the tundish and the mold. When the molten steel flows from the tundish to the mold, the drainage sand can prevent the molten steel from coming into direct contact with the air, reducing the secondary oxidation of the molten steel and avoiding the reaction between the elements in the molten steel and the oxygen in the air, thus ensuring the purity and quality of the molten steel.
• Controlling the Flow Rate of Molten Steel: The drainage sand can regulate the flow rate of the molten steel. By reasonably selecting the particle size, shape and filling amount of the drainage sand, etc., the speed of the molten steel flowing from the tundish into the mold can be accurately controlled, ensuring that the molten steel solidifies evenly and stably in the mold, which is conducive to producing billets with good surface quality and uniform internal structure.
• Preventing Nozzle Blockage: Due to the certain physical and chemical properties of the drainage sand, it can form an isolation layer at the nozzle to prevent impurities and inclusions in the molten steel from gathering and precipitating at the nozzle, thereby avoiding nozzle blockage and ensuring the smooth progress of the continuous casting process.

Other Applications

• Tapping Hole Drainage: During the tapping of steelmaking equipment such as electric furnaces and converters, the drainage sand is used at the tapping hole. It can help guide the molten steel to flow out smoothly, prevent the tapping hole from caking, ensure the smooth tapping process and improve the tapping efficiency.
• Refining Furnace Drainage: In the operation of the refining furnace, the drainage sand also plays an important role. It helps to guide the flow of molten steel in the refining furnace, so that the molten steel can fully contact with the refining agent and other substances, improving the refining effect, further removing harmful elements and impurities in the molten steel and enhancing the quality of the steel.
