1. Product Definition
The Porous Purging Plug, also known as a porous brick, is a crucial device installed at the bottom of ladles, metallurgical vessels, etc. It is the core component for realizing the bottom-blowing refining process and plays a vital role in high-temperature metallurgical processes. The porous purging plug is usually made of materials with high refractory properties and has a special pore structure or gas channels inside, enabling inert gases (such as argon) to be uniformly and stably introduced into the molten metal. Installing a porous purging plug at the bottom of a refining ladle and blowing argon into the molten steel through it can effectively stir the molten steel and promote various metallurgical reactions.
2. Working Principle
The working principle of the porous purging plug is based on the permeation and diffusion of gases. When connected to an external inert gas source, the gas, under a certain pressure, passes through the pores or preset gas channels inside the porous purging plug and is uniformly dispersed into the molten metal in the form of tiny bubbles. These bubbles, during their upward movement, stir the surrounding molten metal, making the temperature and composition of the molten metal more uniform. In the steelmaking process, the argon bubbles blown through the porous purging plug can drive the circulation of the molten steel, accelerate the floating and removal of inclusions in the molten steel, and also contribute to the full progress of chemical reactions such as desulfurization and deoxidation.

Production technology is adding carbon-containing compound into mixture, since carbon-containing compound can burn out without
residue at low temperature, so we adopt low temperature burning out intermediate materials to get the initial porosity.
In porous type plug, inside distributes interpenetrating gas channels in different sizes.
When blowing stop, the steel and slag from ladle will infiltrate into the deep areas of the plug, to form a secure layer on working surface.

-Segment Plug
The segment plug is preferably made of good anti-stripping materials, the block body is not easy to occur fracture, with longer service life. The cracks between different plates will not expand, so this segment plug design can avoid failure of bottom blowing caused by tranverse brick fracture.
Application characteristics: In order to adapt to more and more strict refining conditions(especially special steel), and to meet the requirements of increasing ladle life, the volume of plug becomes bigger and bigger. However the traditional slit type plug has single material and single structure, easy to cause the phenomenon of tranverse fracture and failure of air blowing.
